EMBAP — Paraná School of Music and Fine Arts

OVERVIEW

Paraná's Music and Fine Arts School, also known as EMBAP, is a public higher education institution founded in 1948. Its mission is to educate musicians and visual artists for free, in undergraduate, specialization and extension courses.

EMBAP's new visual identity comes to represent its historical context in a contemporary interpretation.

The window, an icon of the school’s facade, is featured prominently, in a minimalist way, becoming the main symbol of the new identity.

Throughout the branding process, its form is deconstructed and fitted in new ways, constituting an identity that transits through time and reveals the different faces of the historic EMBAP.

Framing a New Identity

The new EMBAP visual identity was inspired by one of the arched windows on the façade of its historic building in downtown Curitiba.

These windows, which have framed decades of concerts, exhibitions, and student life, are an emblem of the school’s enduring presence in the city’s cultural landscape. By translating this architectural element into a clean and contemporary mark, the logo connects EMBAP’s rich history to its forward-looking vision, honoring both its heritage in the arts and its role as part of UNESPAR.
